Ways You can Reduce Carbon Emissions
Hello readers, welcome to CyClean’s blog for another informative post about CyClean and conservation of the planet. Carbon emissions is a serious global issue that is sometimes ignored due to the fact that the effects are not tangible or perceivable. However, the polluted air we breathe in everyday will one day unveil itself as a sickness. It is a problem for us and our children.
CyClean proposes a solution, which is the rental and use of electric vehicles with zero emissions. But we believe we all can contribute to this movement in our everyday lives. Here are some tips for how you can reduce carbon emissions.
1. Walk or Ride a Bicycle
You may have seen cars stuck in traffic on the way to work. Because so many people take their cars to the workplace, carbon emissions levels do not decrease. But now, you can change that. By walking to your workplace, if it is in a nearby location, or by riding a bicycle, you can avoid spewing gases into the atmosphere. You also have the added benefit of exercising by walking or riding a bike.
2. Take Public Transportation
This notion is tied to number 1. By carpooling or riding the bus or subway, you share a vehicle with many other people. Rather than going alone in one car, you potentially have tens or hundreds of people sharing a ride with you. Lowering the number of gas cars reduces carbon emissions.
3. Recycle Goods
This may not seem like a trick to reduce emissions, but recycling does help. In the United States, 29% of greenhouse gas emissions are from manufacturing, transporting, and disposing of goods. The more products you use and throw away, more greenhouse gas emissions are released into the air because new goods have to be prepared and transported. Thus, recycling and reusing goods is an effective way to reduce emissions.
4. Eat Local Foods
There is a local foods store near my house. Farmers from the nearby region sell fresh crops at a low price, which makes them attractive to consume. It is said that 13% of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions comes from food production and transport. The food that you buy from the market is probably transported from some faraway place, and that means in the process of transporting, a bunch of gas has been released. You can eat healthy foods at your local market and have a positive effect on lowering emission levels.
I know it isn’t easy to change your lifestyle, but if we gain better health and support our community and environment, it is worth considering. We hope our tips got you thinking a little bit – I know the CyClean team will lead by example. Have a great day!
